Files+

Files+ turns your iPhone/iPod Touch into a file storage device that allows you to carry your files wherever you go. With server integration you can easily download and upload files to your FTP servers or Dropbox.

The beautiful interface makes it easy to find any file with support for many common and uncommon file formats. Not only does Files allow you to store your files in an unlimited folder hierarchy, you can also view many formats such as text files, photos, videos, spreadsheets, documents, PDFs and many more.

Files+ is available for $0.99

    1. Awesome concept!!! Also looks and feels really fantastic.

    2. The connection screen should really warn that it takes a few seconds for the wi-fi address to appear; it took me forever to realize that the app was not broken in that way.

    3. I want to TRANSFER FOLDERS. Can that happen? I tried via Dropbox, but all attempts to log into Dropbox yield “Only the app owner can receive access token while this app is in development mode – OK.”

    4. Fix the above and I’ll five you five stars.

    Thanks!

Thank you, I’m glad you like Files. I’ll add the warning for the wifi connection, thanks for the suggestion. I’ll have to look into folder transfer, should be possible. The Dropbox issue is fixed now, it was still pending approval from Dropbox but has been approved now.

Nice App, I tried the lite version and really liked it. Loved the file transfer via wifi so bought the full version. Now one question, why is the wifi transfer so different in the paid version??? 1 it takes ages for wifi status to change to on and second I got to stay on that page in order to do the transfer. In the lite version I could go to the folder and watch the files being uploaded. So I actualy prefer your lite version. The other thing is how do you transfer files from the lite version to the paid one?
A little help screen or file would be helpfull too.

Hi found your Files app on the app store listed as suitable for iphone, ipod touch and ipad.

I have purchased for my ipad and it displays the splash screen and then i get a black screen with and a 1x or 2x option but cannot get any further

    can you help

I believe you were trying the lite version of a different Files app as I don’t have a lite version.

I’ve noticed this on the iPad and have a fix ready for the 1.2 update that I’ll be submitting sometime this week. There is no way for us (developers) to not allow the app to be downloaded on iPads which is unfortunate because I’ve been developing this app strictly for the iPhone/iPod Touch. I’m hoping to make it universal in the future.

Mate, my sincere appoligies. I have bought your app by mistake. However, it does look fantastic and once working will be just the thing I need, so please take my comments above as bug reporting etc.

The other thing is, if you have changed the name of your app and I have purchased a version called files already, how do I get it switiched over without having to pay for it again?

I’ve bought Files+ and it’s a really genius piece of software. Like it very much, easy to use and it looks very nice.

We are also developing an APP for “Snag Flowing at Building sites” and therefore we use also ftp for our own filetransfer. But we have serious problems using the internal cf-ftp.

My Question is now: Can you give us a hint or tell us what components you use. If they are made by yourself maybe there is a chance to buy it. I would be really glad if you would contact me…
    Best regards Volker Nabholz

I have been researching “file manager” apps for iPad 2 and found Files+. Do you have a manual or detailed instructions so that I might decide whether it will work for me before I buy and install it? Thanks

Nice app. I accessed my server and downloaded files from there first try. My question is about once the files get into my iPod. I’m with a theatre group that’s looking to use my iPod touch to do sound effects during performance. We have an app called Audio On Cue which plays back sound files, but it appears to be built strickly to access the iPod’s music library. Anyway to get files thru Files+ into the iPod’s music directory? Thanks.

Somewhere in your blogs there’s an entry saying something like “added the ability to save photos to the camera roll”, which is what prompted me to buy this app. However, I cannot figure out how to do this in files+. My goal is to use a Win XP program to save an image to the iphone via a network-mapped drive (something that doesn’t seem possible with the files+ http server approach), then to be able to edit this image using another iphone app by loading it from the camera roll. Are you planning on implementing either of these features? If not, can you suggest another app that will do what I want?

Also, the screenshots and other bits of information imply that files+ can display image thumbnails. I cannot get this to work with jpeg images (“show icons by default” is enabled in the settings). Am I missing something?

    Hi
I really like Files+, it is my favorite file manager on my iphone. I’d like to see some more features in next updates:
    - share files via Bluetooth with other phones
    - multiple downloads from url and add some download management (start, pause/stop, re-download)
    - add support RAR archive files
    - add iWorks files (Pages, Numbers, Keynotes) as viewvable formats

p.s sry for my english, it isn’t my native language

Addendum to previous enquiry about Files+ USB transfer via iTunes: specifically, I need to be able to transfer PDFs from my iPhone to my mac.

I purchased today and it worked great. I uploaded file to my ipod touch over WIFI and then downloaded via USB through Itunes. Went looking for more information via Google, but found typing files+ into google didn’t get me anywhere, so went back to itunes store to find your site. Perhaps you can do something to get your site to show up more easily on Google–great app!

    Hi,
I want to be able to transfer files both ways…. i.e. from desktop to my iPhone – which i know your app will…. but i also want to be easily able to transfer back again without using dropbox etc… can this be done ?

I just purchased Files+ and I’m trying to figure out how to email a couple of PDF files using the application. I emailed the PDFs to myself but was not able to open the files. I got an error message “Adobe Reader could not open “filename.pdf” because it is either not a supported file.

Also, the email that was sent contained both PDFs plus 2 text files that I didn’t send.

I was able to email one of the PDF files from iBooks and I could open the document just fine.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Think I got it figured out.

I had downloaded the 2 pdfs from my website using the Download from URL feature and somehow the files got corrupted. When I downloaded the same files from Dropbox, the files worked fine.

Re the 2 text files, it looks like the Files+ program created the first text file as a result of spaces in the email and the second text file from my email signature. When I delete all the spaces in the email before/after the attached files and then wrote my message, the text files aren’t included.

You can use the wifi transfer to get files off your device as well as send files to your device

Is there a way to transfer folder trees vs. one file at a time?

  26. January 5th, 2012 at 10:02 | #26

Only through Dropbox or FTP transfer, not wifi.

    Hi,
I have multiple mail accounts on my iphone. When I email from Files+ app, it always attempts to go out through a single mail account. I can change the from name but then it doesn’t match the server being sent through and the email doesn’t go out. Is there anyway I can pick the mail account before I start my email with attachment? Setting it as a default would be a step in this direction but I really need to select the mail account for each email being sent with attachments.

Hi.. love the app, its fantastic for my work so I can take all my important files on the go with me. A couple of comments I have:

    - I noticed a comment above about being able to wifi transfer whole files full of documents to the iphone.. that would be very useful as it took me a while to individually copy all the files I wanted. Do you plan to add this or is dropbox / FTP the only option for this?
    - The app seems to crash when I turn it to landscape mode, seems to only be when viewing certain file types – .ppt was one I noticed it on. It has also happened to me sometimes with .pdf’s, but not all the time strangely. Is this a bug you are aware of?
