Taskly Update 1.2 Now Available

Apple has just approved the 1.2 update for Taskly. This update addresses many bugs and adds some features as well as some changes. I requested an expedited review so this update would be available as soon as possible, and sure enough, 1 day after submitting the update it is available.  Good job Apple.

Here is the update notes and a screenshot of the multi task editing change.

Recommended
—————————
This update fixed a few server side issues so it is recommend that if you have registered for a free Taskly account in the Taskly app that you do a 1-Way Device to Server sync by going to the “Settings” tab (bottom right), scrolling down to the “Sync & Notification Settings” section and tapping the “Taskly Account” row. Once in there, you should see your email and password entered in. Just tap the “Save” (must be connected to the internet) button in the upper right and from the popup choose “1-Way Device to Server”

Bugs
—————————
- Fix: Deleted lists were still showing in the Move Task Dialog
- Fix: Was not possible to move tasks into a Subtask List or Checklist that resided in the Inbox
- Fix: Removed “New Themes” Notification Type
- Fix: Push notification reoccurrence removed
- Fix: Deferring a task was not auto syncing with the server
- Fix: After quick adding a context, wrong icons showed up in top right
- Fix: Sometimes changing a checklist to a subtask list would cause the app to crash
- Fix: Sometime a crash would occur when adding a task from the calendar
- Fix: Adding tasks for different dates in the same session was not working correctly
- Fix: Marking a repeating task complete on the calendar was showing the new task on the same day and the calendar was not updating
- Fix: When a task was being duplicated because it was a repeating task or because “Copy” was chosen from the Quick Task Action overlay, certain values of that task were not being copied to the new task correctly
- Fix: Some Push Notification bugs fixed
- Fix: A few memory leaks

New Features
—————————
+ Added defer to multi task edit, now you can defer multiple tasks at a time
+ Added consecutive quick adds to the root of the home view (when viewing all your lists)

Changes
—————————
= After adding a task via quick add and tapping the keyboards done button to continue adding tasks, the top left button changes to a Done button instead of Cancel
= Changed the look of the multi task edit buttons

    Patrick,
Recently purchased app for my son who has Autism spectrum disorder. He has difficulty with transitions and works well with task lists to help him stay focused and on schedule. In fact, his doctor actually suggested an IPod for him to help with this.
I am new to both IPods and Taskly and I have a few questions/requests:
    1) Can you add an ability to repeat on weekdays only (school prep related tasks).
    2) What is the push notification all about? We are not often in WiFi areas, so I have not registered for a taskly account. There is a reminder feature for each task – does this allow for a audio alert and is it associated with the push notification? Why would we need to sync with a server?
    3) How do I get the latest updates (v1.2)?
    4) Can these tasks sync to other calendars (google calendar, etc.)?

    Thanks,
    Stephen

I will be updating the repeat feature in a future update. Push notifications will allow you to get reminders for tasks that have a due date and you have set a reminder for.

Push notifications work the best if you are always connected to the internet (on an iPhone) but will work on an iPod Touch, you just won’t receive a notification unless you are connected to the internet.

You can get the latest updates by checking the app store on your device. The far right tab at the bottom is where the update will show and updates are free.

Currently the tasks do not sync with anything. Once the web interface is finished, I will be trying to integrate syncing with google calendar.

In order for alarms to work, you need to register for a Taskly Account in the Settings section of the app under Taskly Account
